Gravitation and Intuition or Out and In

Fly_and_chimneysStrange times, working in two directions: the gravitational, trying to attract, infiltrate and modify vortices of energy and social force. Trying to find the colours and directions that make people react and start to wonder how they could be just a small part of changing the world in non-conflictual, non-competitive movements. This is not a search towards the outside world, as there is no outside, for this would be an acceptance of there being an inside. This is an attempt to understand and let ourselves be media for the forces that will be able to draw more attention and invention towards making connection and attraction the causes of creative frictions, rather than competition and exclusion. I think I understand this part, though I find it hard, I am no salesman, not at all, I have been called to do many things and never performed a selling act in my life. I have tried to inspire and call, but selling or marketing is something I know from the inside from analysing it and composing its elements so many times, I find it has no value, no production of wealth, only empty vectors shooting through space to catch flies on their sugary surfaces. No, this is not possible for me. Gravitation must take place by creating the zones of higher attraction that will make people curious enough to want to gravitate and participate. That's all. This takes time and a lot of voicing, but it is simple, in most senses.

And then, at the same time, working with understanding this call from somewhere on another side of a ridge, I wouldn't say it's on the inside, because that distinction doesn't make sense to me, never has, there is not an inside of the subject and an outside, at least not in the sense that the inside is inside of me. I know that there is an inside in the sense that pulses operate and movements occur from places and bodies in space. So obviously, there is a folding, a serializing of events making way to the visibility of our outer world. But it does not come from 'inside of me', and thus my search is not to the inside of myself. But it is a journey within dimensions that are not communicative in the same manner as the call to gravitation. This is more like gravitation happening to me, and I don't know from where it draws me.

The main issue of this journey is to find the paths of intuition. For this, I am inviting people that work with intuition or feel that their lives are directed and influenced by 'it' (intuition, I guess I don't really see it as an 'it', but we will see about that), to participate. They tell me how we should proceed, and I will follow. One philosopher has told me to go and see a clairvoyant. Another wants me to take part in an exchange between his country and mine, making the vectors of movement and intuition be the source of insight. A third has simply been working through artistic play. And so on. This is a deeply intriguing journey, and I have no idea where it will end. Will it ruin me? Will I come out wiser and with a long beard :-)?

Anyway, if you know someone you think would be an obvious person for me to get in touch with, drop me a line. The location has no importance, we will find a way if needed.

Thoughts of the day

Silence for two months? Well, hardly, but no blogging activity, just all the rest. Mainly buidling up momentum to get the next thing going: the independent organisation entitled "Gravitations - centre for philosophy and intervention", which will be launched next month in Copenhagen, Denmark. Tada.. more will follow on that thing. Going public like crazy. Chaning the world.. anyone interested can participate, we are looking for partners all over the world. Website will appear soon. Activities expected this year in Denmark, UK, Gambia, Sweden.. and?

Thoughts of the day after a great conversation on the phone with new friend:

We must experiment more. Take chances, play, practice, practice some more. Philosophical experiments, make mistakes, share, share.

We are about to renew the concept of fate. It must be taken out of its religious chambers and out of the Kantian boredom as well.

Freedom is virtuality. That means: freedom can only be given as something which as a social phenomena precedes the individual. And a chronotope which makes way for more - more life, more action, more potentiality.

The way to approach this is through experimenting and practicing, and through confronting the world with what we believe can be done. Every human being has the potential to change the world, but no one can do this on their own. Why should we, anyway?

Change takes place through tautologies: they can not be proven through logical analysis, only by realising themselves. This is why something like psychoanalysis could never be logically sound, but only develop itself by being performed. This also means that it doesn't prove itself wrong: it shows itself by the world that it creates, not by the logical truth value.

Philosophy must act through guidance, teaching, playing, and utmost attention. Make of yourself a social phenomenon.

We are children learning to walk. In deep naïvity, we think we can do it, even though we have never tried. And the way to get there is by trying. Bothing else.

Philosophy is a simple, yet very difficult task. Not something to be done in solitude, no matter how lonely we may feel as individuals. We are not born alone, and we should live accordingly.

The five minute exercise: do something for five minutes every day - write with no intermission and sense - think with no limitations - learn to play the harp - practice walking - sing in foreign languages - talk to someone you haven't spoken to previously - etc. Whatever you do, you must be the one performing, so reading the paper or watching TV doesn't count. Meditation is nice, writing to music is intense.

Go play.

Ambiguation rules!

I don't know if these times are harder than they were before, as they have never been before.
I know that there is a lot of fear of ambiguity in the part of the world that I crawl. I have also seen places outside my normal territory, that seem less plagued by this fear. But then, they don't have much of a saying, and if they were really given the choice would they choose simplicity?

What is it with this? I feel joyful and delighted at ambiguity. Life is a complex parade of situational and evental foldings that offer so many examples of the irreducibility of the complex, and I have to admit, I enjoy it.

Ok, setting my personal nutcase apart: what's the problem? Ambiguity means there is more than one right choice. So, it also means there is more than one wrong choice? No, it means there are no wrong choices - and for the matter speaking: no right choices, either. Ambiguity means we have to face the flow and breaks in life with open readiness. It means you canøt fall asleep and expect the world to be like it's supposed to, when you wake up. It means life moves, all the time.

Is that a problem? The problem seems to be that so many forces try to get rid of it - even though it would be obvious to me that they have no chance of erasing each other from the face of the earth and from memory. Which would be the only way to make the world less ambiguous. Or would it? Kill me, and get rid of me as a double? But, no: kill me, and the doubleness of the kille will invade your existence. And this time, it will haunt you forever.

You see, there is such a force at work as memory.

Intuition desire kudzu

KudzucarIs intuition desire? Hmm.. no, I don't think so, it is more like a Kudzu, growing under skins, growing between skins, intuition does not belong to the subject or possess the subject like a force that he can follow. It is a weedlike propulsion of rattling, rusting, reeding movement, itching its way and growing with no knowledge of where it goes, that is precisely why it does - intuition as a Kudzu has no self-reflection, it has no consciousness, it has only direction, no turning about and returning an cleverness. System? why not? an exploding, wild, weedy system, then.

A friend has started the kudzu-line. Watch it grow as it does.

more difference, less ego

Matt asked me, in the midst of his very productive blogging weekend, whether I was asking for more confessions and less privacy.

Let me put it this way: what I see in my part of the world, is a tendency to focus still more on the personal, on being right about my life and for my life, and concentrating on making that one life the only one that should be protected, always, against all threats, be these ethnic, political, or economic. This is a saddening tendency, but I try to think of it as something that should be broken down and cut into pieces, rather than fought head-on, as this is precisely what brings forth the defesive reactions described above.

So, what I try to say to people is, could you possibly think of a way to be a little less focused on what YOU have achieved and what YOU own, and produce, and possess - and try to lower your eyes to a lower level, one of the multitude that constitutes and determines you, as well as the rest of the world - a level where the multitude at "inidividual -1" is all moves and fragments and rhizomes coupling up and dividing and potentially so muh bigger than what each one of us can aspire to be, alone and in all existential loneliness.

So, that's it, enough moralisation, no confessions, sorry about that.. be less than one and become more than one. That's it. Think about how you can do it, by moving below your pride and identity, and find the links to the things that are there, ready to explode from within and below. The world we will build is not present around us, as far as I know, it is yet to be built. So it is not about making enemies in this world and preserving your friends. But about making difference, about becoming more difference and less identity. That's all, for now.

Weber Nation

Kuglegrill

in 2005, the Danes had access to something like 40 billion DKK, that is about 5,5 billion Euros. these are the amounts that individuals had, not corporations. there are 5 million Danes.

polarisation is growing. newspeak is exploding. the sale of circular garden  barbecues (preferably the ones called "Weber") was a total fab in the cool, Danish summer. the Weber world (this site actually has a concept of "the Weber Nation", spooky. was this intentional??

people talk of interest rates, of mortgages, they nod briefly between the home office and the workplace office, where they sweat and sweat and sweat for goals that they have long gone forgotten. do they really believe the values of their corporation? do they have newspeak for breakfast?

on TV, two of their political leaders fight (they actually do, occasionally) about the ideals of equality and freedom. while noone listens, as this discussion takes place on the lonely channel with no viewers at 23:00; while the people aleep and dream of safety. yesterday, the government support party, The Danish People's Party, a mildly extremist xenophobic party uniting care for "the little man" and protecting "Danishness" from the great threats (does that remind you of anything..?) outside.

yes, yes, it's a beautiful world.

Del Amitri back in 1990:

"Post office clerks put up signs saying position closed
And secretaries turn off typewriters and put on their coats
Janitors padlock the gates
For security guards to patrol
And bachelors phone up their friends for a drink
While the married ones turn on a chat show

And they’ll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Gentlemen time please, you know we can’t serve anymore
Now the traffic lights change to stop, when there’s nothing to go
And by five o’clock everything’s dead
And every third car is a cab
And ignorant people sleep in their beds
Like the doped white mice in the college lab

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all
The needle returns to the start of the song
And we all sing along like before

And we’ll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Telephone exchanges click while there’s nobody there
The martians could land in the carpark and no one would care
Close-circuit cameras in department stores shoot the same video every day
And the stars of these films neither die nor get killed
Just survive constant action replay

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all
The needle returns to the start of the song
And we all sing along like before

And we’ll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Bill hoardings advertise products that nobody needs
While angry young men from manchester write to complain about
All the repeats on t.v.
And computer terminals report some gains
On the values of copper and tin
While american businessmen snap up van goghs
For the price of a hospital wing

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all
The needle returns to the start of the song
And we all sing along like before
Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all
They’ll burn down the synagogues at six o’clock
And we’ll all go along like before

And we’ll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow.."

And in my TV they talk of Berufsverbot, and they are not talking just about Germany in the 70's.. Do they talk of freedom? Do they know ask themselves if we try to expand freedom? Do we try to expand society, or just the share of the Weber Nation.

Good night, Denmark. Welcome to the "new" millenium. help us, world.
